What an important piece of music! I’ve been collecting select Soul Jazz titles for a while. Found at a record shop and asked them to play a few tracks. After an hour of crate digging they flipped to disc 2 and kept going. It was obvious this... See full review

Weird there are no comments yet. This is a very original/different Roots album from Jamaica when many local artists and producers were transitioning to Dancehall. Its slow pace is like a turtle that wins the race. Mastering was done in the UK — great... See full review

This LP has the Roots reggae scene in the USA on lock. While Jamaica shifted into Dancehall and Digital, groups like this stuck with live creative instrumentation, and it’s all analog. Being in the Boston music arts scene they had access to legit... See full review

Super under the radar production by Mad Professor with Black Steel’s percussion being top of its class for the era. Much of Reggae in the 90s was digital synth, which in the hands of masters results in an album like this.

Definitely intrigued. Followed BT closely in the early 2000s and his fanbase website listed it as a 12" single in its discography. This was reliable information at the time, I suppose they saw it played during a live performance as a one-off... See full review

This DVD edition is a documentary with the only audio being the album. The video is a revelation. You have a window - actually it is a seat - in the rooms and in front of the consoles, every hour day and night, in a sparse flat and down in the... See full review

Obviously a dish warped press in this era is unforgivable. Especially with a Universal logo on the back. Return these for quality control reasons and get a replacement. It just came out last week!

MrCrisp, the duplication of a rhythm (can be the exact same instrumental recording, or reperformed by another band) is part of the reggae tradition. In Perry’s case, multiple versions of multiple rhythms appearing on releases featuring him as a... See full review
