Strapping Young Lad - Alien

Lot of details I feel like I'm hearing for the first time. I'm not sure I've ever actually listened to Info Dump in it's entirety, but I was blown away with it here.

Going in I just assumed this would be some generic solo rock album. Instead it's some bonkers symphonic jazz rock album. Probably overlooked by the over abundance of ambitious music at the time but another great sounding Martin Birch album worth... See full review

Songs with lyrics kind of stink, but Night Flight and Slick Stuff are absolute bangers.

So much depth and subtlety in this record. It's like I heard it for the first time. Pressed on virgin vinyl or possibly Quiex vinyl (can shine a light though it). If you love this music I think it's well worth it to try and get a copy.

Somehow every album Steve Nye worked on is amazing, great sounding record. John Wetton's bass is spectacular on this. Whole album oozes cool.

Very quiet in a good way. You really need to crank it. Side D with Karma and Epilogue really improve from this version.

Great pressing. The bass at the end of Waste Not Want Not is bliss.

Bass guitar is much more pronounced than streaming versions I'm familiar with. A really full sounding and beautiful album. The Only Boy In Heaven should be the last song played at every bar.

In a world of dime a dozen rock and prog albums that you've never heard of, this stands out as a real unique gem. The solo on Music In Dreamland is just sublime.
Japan - Adolescent Sex

I've been a fan of Japan and related projects for a number of years but always dismissed this album as early growing years material. I don't know if it's because of the quality of this German press, but the album just pops! Barbieri and Jansen really... See full review

Quite a variety of sounds. One song will sound like Gary Numan, the next The Tubes than Talking Heads. Track False Alarms feels like what Voivod would be if they were a new wave band. A very surreal and unique album, recommended if you like strange music.

The guitars at the end of She Cried are so beautiful it actually made me cry, 5 stars.

An amazing forgotten gem. The sounds quality on this pressing is outstanding. The B on the label means it was pressed by Electrosound Group on Quiex vinyl. Get this while it still costs almost nothing.
