this has got to be a troll. this album was produced with analog equipment and recorded onto tape. you can hear the hiss. no idea what laptops you're talking about? as if people can't make amazing work with computers ,)

I haven't heard the original but I didn't notice anything off with the mastering on this one. Bit old-school and lo fi but nowhere near as bad as Friendly Children or some other older Theo material

You might see it differently if you were a (probably) poor artist trying to run a (probably also poor) label. 1000 releases- 2000 records, plus twice the mastering/plating costs- is a big chunk of cash upfront. $3000 absolute minimum, not counting...

I'd argue not, since the original artists get no money, and they get "credit" for potentially low quality productions. Additionally, their names are used primarily for marketing purposes, so that outweighs the honesty in the attribution.

Mexicano is a tremendous dub techno track, ranked up there with the best of Anders Ilar, Marko Fürstenberg, Daniel Stefanik etc.
