Kino consists of keyboard player John Beck (It Bites), drummer Chris Maitland (ex-Porcupine Tree), singer & guitarist John Mitchell (Arena and others), and bassist Pete Trewavas (Marillion). This is a great melodic prog album. Yes, it has a strong pop vein running through it, but this is classic British pop songwriting that adds a level of excitement too often missing from the genre. In some ways, Kino seems to be the logical continuation of It Bites, but operating more in the progressive rock idiom and less in the pop.
