roger never talks of this track in interviews, like he's embarrassed by it. what a sell out

Dreamworld (Higher Understanding) was sampled by Solar Stones on The Calling. What a great sample it was on that track!

Deep In Swing Mix was the one for me. Remember Rick playing me it fresh from the delivery van. Bought on the spot as Crash only had the one copy delivered. The A side was massive, and for a good reason but this mix still shines after all this time. I had never heard or Roger Sanchez when this came out . Maybe his debut release and still his finest moment me thinks. Gorgeous.

World of Dreams mix was a big record at Leeds Warehouse around the same time as LFO and the early Warp records - fitted in alongside all that bleep stuff.

Mr C also used to play this 1990 - total head-f***!

Roger Sanchez with one of his first (and best) productions.
Epic New York deep house / bleep fusion track!!

What a great record - first heard Evil Eddie Richards drop this at Amnesia House in 1990, it was the standout track that night which my mates and I fondly called the 'Magic Marble Track' before we discovered the actual track name a couple of months later. An ex-girlfriend picked me up a copy after i'd noticed it in a record shop on one of my many trips to London for records and clothes and got her to grab it while she was down there.
It's certainly one of my favourite records in my collection and brings back loads of great memories from that time in my life.

What a record! Not only was it one of the first ambient-house records, but is was miles away from anything : it isn't a dub pattern with dozens of "ambient" samples dropped on it, with dog barking or thunder blowing, à la The Orb. Neither is it a low and instrumental synth track with evoluting refined synth lines, à la Namlook or Mixmaster Morris.
No. It is much more interesting than this.
Hypnotic, unusual, and even bizarre, its really pushes the boundaries of House music : the beat is there, the voice sample also, filtered and giving an odd feeling of flatation, and the whole tracks are giving you the sensation you just stepped into a different dimension, a strange dream, a bit dark and frightening, a bit sensual and appealing... and then it bug-like repeats itself like dream do, and suddenly goes in an odd direction, aaah.
Was it intentional or just one of those unexpected gifts of fortune, who cares! It is such a strange and valuable sonic object...

Roger Sanchez first record ? My I say his best one! May I say a definite milestone, that will stand for a long time, if not more ?

This is Roger S. on his own self-pressed and self produced debut 12". It is really one of the most obscure New York Underground tracks of early 1990. It really would sit well as an early Warp release just because it is experimental techno that sounds more like B12 then what Strictly Rhythm would release by Roger in the years ahead.
Quark Records would release remixed versions to follow, but none of them took on the very first original versions found on this record.

One of my favourite House/Breaks tracks. First heard this at the Eclipse in coventry in 1990 [Should be a 1990 release ?]. It was the first and last time i heard it and it was spun by Grooverider who had always played the obscure classics. A haunting deep bleep compliments a kickin' Break Beat loop that is interupted by a chilled out floaty interlude, great track !.
