Reviews
- Edited 2 years agoWow. I'm listening to the Euphoria series in date order and this is one is absolutely the best so far (the 24th volume, and first Euphoria released of 2003). Best. One Yet.
I'd review each CD, but it's pointless - they are both outstanding, an absolute ride/journey/experience whatever you want to call it.
So well organised and effortlessly slides between ambient, trance breaks, progressive trance and even house at times. Tracks overlayed ontop of tracks all in key - and many occasions when you just sit there like 'YES!...That mix sounds so right!'
Lots of fantastic choices for remixes too - The Schiller remix of Troy, such a blessing hearing that version as opposed to the Push remix. Can't praise this album enough, such a pleasant surprise.
It has all the nostalgia and melancholy of the very first Euphoria, but with more variety and (of course) tighter mixing.
After listening to each CD I sht thee nay I let the CD play through all over again...almost like a 'what the hell did I just listen to' was not expecting such a great CD, let alone both discs.
Easy 5 star. Legendary.

It's criminal that (Jay Burnett) hadn't mixed a Euphoria previously and I absolutely cannot wait to get around to listening to the second 'deeper shades of'. - Edited 2 years agoI’m pretty impressed with his choices of track and the journey I am taken on here. Whilst I know and love many of the tracks already he has pieced together a uniquely styled mix which is perfect for after hours or being in the sun. Great work. Note: I’m not a massive fan of all the Euphoria offerings - but these two he has mixed and the other two mixes of the same title work very well for me. Not too hard either and not too trancey all the time, but a beautiful tempo and atmospheric ride. Great producers, great breaks and decent altered melodies! Good work.
- Jay Burnett, one of the most underrated mixology geniuses that's ever existed! He doesn't just mix two tracks together, he makes a new track from two or more others. He takes you on a journey all the way through and has you skipping back just so you can hear how good the tracks are mixed together! If you want that wow factor from hearing mixing alone then Jay Burnett is the man for that, best musical mixing engineer out there!
- Not usually one for the Euphoria Mix Collections - this really does come up trumps! These mixes have everything a good mix should, taking you up and down, then kicking you out the other side panting for more.
The 1st track on CD 1 (from Gladiator) sets the scene for the musical blanket your about to wrap up in!
Warning: There are a few cheesey moments on these CD's...but well worth it!
