There's some great moments on here for sure, & one thing I love about music is, no 2 persons will see eye to eye on everything they hear.

'Drum'n'Bass For Papa' divides opinion it would seem, though in my circles back then it was nothing short of legendary & still is, especially for tracks like 'Feelings'...

I am particular about Drum n Bass, so tracks like 'Drum N Bass' deal with my preferred sounds: ambient rollers, or raw breaks & mathematical cut- ups. Jungle, if you must. In fact for me LV's best moment on that tip is his Wagon Christ remix of 'Extreme Possibilities; also on Ninja Tune, back in the day... Now there's a mathematical cut up if there ever was one...

At least one or the other Plug LP's should not be missed, & that's one fact all reviewers on this page likely agree on.
      Which one is your choice!

Essential. Everything I like about Luke's music is here in full effect: nostalgic sounds taken to new futures, witty and humorous as all hell. This is music made with love. Come On My Skeleton is devastating. I'd nut a 7 minute VIP to death.

Luke Vibert returns to his old Plug mantle for another album of crazed breaks. BACK ON TIME show a little more of Vibert's electro leanings, particularly on the opener, "Scar City." Both that track and "Feeling So Special" have a soul sample as their centerpiece, but this changes with the tougher "No Reality," which still manages to stay light with its high tinkling tones and sitar flavor. The sitar returns for "A Quick Plug," a quasi-psychedelic trip, and he brings the acid house to "Mind Bending." A little hint of Vibert's easy listening fetish creeps into the title track, mixed, as always, with hip-hop. Meanwhile, "Yes Man" manages to mix in a little bit of sadness with its breaks, while "Drum N Bass" lives up to its name. And how can you not love the sample that says, "Disco Airlines, Flight 78" on top of a mellow track to lead us out. Vibert is always right on time.

It is speculated that the track 12 Get Out My Face which was packed with the Z177 download is actually Citizen Tinnitus because Get Out My Face on the Run 12" has a longer track length and sound completely different (vocals etc).

Far superior to the first Plug album in pretty much every way. It takes what was good on the first record, refines it and makes it a far more presentable and more interesting release. There are some good tracks on the original record but most were over-long and outstayed their welcome due to a lack of progression, here is not the case. Vibert fans should snatch this up immediately! The female vocal sample on 'Come on my Skeleton' is orgasmic btw, and the bells! My god the bells.

This album is exceptional. It has been battering my ear drums since being loaded onto my mp3 player a couple of weeks back. All tunes are superb...a jazz tinged, beat laden, sample fest of mentality. What's not to like. Stand out tracks for me are Run, Drum and Bass, Get out of my Face and Come on my Skeleton.
On first hearing i thought that Back on Time was too similar to Drum'n'Bass for Papa, however upon repeat listens I realise that although it comes from the same mould (obviously), it can stand its ground.
Excellent stuff. Let's hope that Mr Vibert discovers some more DATs with Plug scrawled onto them.

"Drum'n'Bass For Papa" is the temple, "Back On Time" is only a shade of the classic! This album sounds like following Wagon Christ's release......
