Awful album for oldcomers but great for newcomers, Tiësto chosen that cheap electro crap and never came back, In that time '07 I wanted to believe that it was just a phase, but now all we know he became even worst. The same case for all that nowadays "Trance" scene, such a waste, I'm to old for this.

This is where the downfall of Tiesto began. Even after all those years, I still die a little bit inside when I think of this album...

This is the less interesting Album by Tiesto, sounds very comercial and background for Clothes stores, nevertheless its a enjoyable Album, far from being touching but suitable to dance and cheer up the atmosphere.
My favourite musics are: "i am strong", "here on Earth" and "Fresh fruit". I hope Tiesto will bring something more deep and less comercial on his next Album.

When I heard this album for the first time in 2009 I thought like everyone else 'Tiesto, why?'
But now a few years later this album has grown on me. It may not be brilliant from a Trance perspective, but if you look at it from the Progressive House side it's a really impressive album.

Why is everyone overlooking "I Am Strong" ? It's the best song on this album!

Well what do you get when you combine crappy commericial electro and trance? well you get a shitty album to be fair, all of the tracks can pass a listen or two just don't expect this to be in anyones tops except for chessy lovers.

Maybe this album is not the top of the world, maybe is not a masterpiece, but this is a different and worthy album: an another demonstration of how tiesto is able to essay with good results in a lot different projects. Every song on kaleidoscope has got his idea. And then there are some amazing and extremely well done tracks like kaleidoscope ( that i absolutely love) , La ride, fresh fruit for example. Other tracks like: "it's not the thing you say", "here on heart" and "feel it in my bones" are more simple, but they are well made and extremely treated. Someone criticize this album because it's not trance: doesn't exists only trance, and i really appreciate him because he has been able to do even music that you can listen even at home in a relax moment, and he did it with good quality.

Once again: another great Trance artist takes the wrong way of bad electro music (others in the same route: ATB, Paul Van Dyk, etc.)

                    Despite the following songs:

                    - Century
                    - Feel it in my bones
                    - Who wants to be alone
                    - La Ride
                    - Bend it like you don't care

This album saves from being one of the worst electronic albums ever produced, without such tracks it could compete with Paul Van Dyk's “In Between” Album (2007) for "the worst electronic album music ever". Van Dyk’s could be first place and Kaleidoscope second.

I'm not exaggerating, this is a really bad album, almost all the tracks have the bad quality and cheap 'electro' sound.
For example, “Louder than boot” is a perfect example of a very cheap and bad electro tune, the track itself sounds like being produced by the "Atari" or "NES" gaming console!

As I've stated in my other reviews, I have nothing against the 'electro' music genre, just against bad quality or mediocre 'electro' productions, but it seems that now the trend is that almost all electronic DJs, producers, artists, etc. are incorporating those bad quality & mediocre 'electro' sounds.

The track Century is a good example of a well balanced electro-trance production. the trance side of the song keeps the good quality DJ Tiesto used to have, and the electro side is of good quality, good production and sounds really good, you need to hear this track to know what I mean. This is the way any electro-trance tune should be made: good quality without cheap electro sounds & beeps. (I strongly recommend the extended version of this tune)

Feel it in my bones is a good electro-house tune, another example of how the electro productions should sound. The only downside is that on the 2:58 mark, there are cheap electro sounds, but after a few seconds (at mark 3:28) the track goes up with the quality. (Again, I recommend the extended version)

Who wants to be alone is a so-so track, could be better but it's not the typical bad quality electro tune. It could also be categorized as electro-house. Compared with the rest of the album, this is a great tune.

La Ride is a well done electro-trance tune, it's a pity that so far there is no an extended version of this tune. If Tiesto had put this effort, quality and production to the rest of the album, then Kaleidoscope would be a great electro-trance-house album.

Bend it like you don't care is a good electro-house tune, again, this is the way electro-house music should sound, and not like mediocre tunes. (There is also an extended version of this track)

Knock you out is also a so-so electro-house track, it has the same keyboard tunes as "allure - somewhere inside" track (at mark 2:48 and until mark 4:00), it's a bad surprise to see the Tiesto recycling himself, this just re-afirms the bad overall quality of this album: a producer that has gone out of creativity and jumps into the mediocre electro wagon and recycling his own material.

If you love trance music and good electro music, then avoid at all cost purchasing the full album and the full extended versions album, I made that mistake and purchased the digital (mp3) version of both!, I thought Tiesto quality would be the same!. Now in my music collection are just the following tracks:

                    From Kaleidoscope:
                    - Tiesto Feat. Nelly Furtado - Who Wants To Be Alone
                    - Tiesto - La Ride
                    - Tiesto Feat. Emily Haines - Knock You Out

                    From Kaleidoscope (Extended Versions):

                    - Tiesto Feat. Calvin Harris - Century (Extended Version)
                    - Tiesto Feat. Tegan & Sara - Feel It In My Bones (Extended Version)
                    - Tiesto - Bend It Like You Dont Care (Extended Version)

So if you could, just purchase the above mentioned tracks and don’t waste money.
Hope you find useful my review
