Various - Secret Mixes Fixes Vol. 6 - 21-Dec-06 12:33 AM
The producer of this release did a really good job of revitalizing these 80's pop hits. The first side is ultra- dubbed out, while the second side is extra-funky. Unfortunately the mastering quality is sub par and possibly unsuitible for club usage.

I think that Holographic Voice, by I-F, is the stand out track on this release. In my opinion, there are few other electronic productions with as much depth. The song goes through various moods and dynamics, which is a quality missing in most electronic dance music. It is the one reason I rate this record so highly.

These are fantastic re-edits. The Gino Soccio track is supremely psychadelic and the Talking Heads track is extra funky. I personally love the way he cuts in the bass slide. If you pay attention, you will notice that the slide comes in at decreasing intervals as the intro goes on, creating tension until the vocal bursts in. Quite clever, I think.
Scarletron - Decalcomania - 17-Jan-06 12:21 AM
Holy crap, these are two awesome tracks! One side is lush, bumping electro, while the other side is wicked, evil, and funky all at once. The best thing I've heard from Carl A. Finlow. I don't know which song is on either side because my copy did not come with the stickers. I guess it doesn't really matter though.
Fantômas - The Director's Cut - 14-Dec-05 05:46 AM
This release is quite an accomplishment in my opinion. These modern renditions of old movie themes and T.V. shows are punctuated by Mike Patton's haunting vocals and crushing instrumental performances by King Buzzo, Dave Lombardo, and Trevor Dunn. The standout tracks, in my mind, are "Charade" and "One Step Beyond". A must listen for any music lover.
