Assuming that I have no other editions to compare with, unfortunately I have to admit that the audio is almost unlistenable, with frequent distortions in the leading voice and even in the instruments, especially when the stage becomes more full-bodied (track 11, "Cara"). The almost constant noise floor, present in some intros and sometimes decreased to zero thanks to a fickling digital reduction, and the defects indicate a possible transfer from vinyl, also because the loss of quality, like a record subject to printing/reading tangential errors, in fact it's more perceptible during some passages and less so in others, but even so there are two unresolved questions: either the source vinyl was really worn out, or the equipment used for digitization was not really qualified for the job.

I'm absolutely not against vinyl transfers, on the contrary, from experience I can say that sometimes they can give pleasant results, also it would be necessary to understand if the original masters or any subsequent generation copies are still available at Sony, but honestly, before putting a result like this on sale, where it's clear that there was also little attention paid mixing-wise, with stumped fades in, I would have spent more time searching for decent source material.

Nothing to add about this wonderful music, which generously saves a not very good reissue, perhaps this is Piero Ciampi's most intimate album, and I already know that I'll never get tired of recommending it to his most fervent and courageous admirers.
