- Edited 19 years agoThe opening line of this song says "who's runnin' this dog-house, hoo-hoo, hoo-hoo". This was sampled by Bass Patrol on the song "Da Mad Scientist" in 1992, and when my old partner and I heard that, we didn't know what it said. Mocking it, we eventually said "who let the dogs out", which we promptly made the chorus and title of our next song ("Miami Boom Productoins presents The 2"). After taking the EP with our new song to Miami to get play on Power 96 and local clubs, the song fell into the hands of Anslem Douglas, who reworked the song without our permission into a track called "Doggie" in 1998, but released it to a limited market only. Later, The Baha Men covered his song, and renamed it "Who Let the Dogs Out"...and we never got paid.
