I can't believe this wasn't an instant classic even in the pop world when it came out in 99. The clean, upfront production, is still incredibly catchy - there's obvious storytelling here with this music, not the bland, forgetful melodies of many a synthpop group. it's intelligent and well crafted. Saving Time, and of course Annie Would I Lie To You, are the best examples of this mature synthpop. Iris has of course gone in a different direction from this release, further maturing, but I still think this is a damn underrated album in electronic music.
