I've seen multiple copies of this and they've all been warped. Avoid or hope to be lucky in the warp-lottery.

Great music, great press (RTI), but unfortunate the stoughton (gatefold) jacket was dropped on this NIS 2xLP Eremite, as it worked so well with Magnetoception, Simultonality (single sleeve) and Mandatory Reality... would've paid extra for it.

to mandomtz: that's a really negative review for an album you apparently uppercase love, & your characterization of the price structure for this album as "silly" is totally bogus. vinyl manufacturing was not exempt from the price increases that occurred across the economy during & after the pandemic. the previous x2LP NIS album, 2021 release, was $38 retail. the $44 retail on the 2023 release reflects only partially how much manufacturing costs have gone up from pre-pandemic pricing. both those releases went thru the exact same production chain as a blue note tone poet for example, where a single LP (not x2LP) retails for $40. & damn near every tone poet artist is dead, & sold the rights to the music on those records. it's wonderful, historic music --now owned by UMG. a contemporary label recording new music & working cooperatively with artists who are alive & hopefully making a living as professional musicians is a very different model.
the new coltrane dolphy x2LP village gate retails for the same as this NIS x2LP, & that wasn't cut by kevin gray nor was it pressed at RTI. i just pre-ordered the forthcoming luaka bop reissue of pharaoh sanders -harvest time- --54.99 before shipping.
there are all sorts of reasons why records cost more or less, & as someone who has yet to produce & manufacture a record in your life, you don't know what you're talking about.

I LOVE this album. But this is going to be the last time I pay damn near 50 dollars for a new in-print release. Eremite Records , lets do something about these silly prices, there is plenty of shit cut by KG that doesn't cost this much, so lets not use that as an excuse for these absurd prices.

I am thoroughly a fan of Natural Information Society. Each album feels like a new turning of the same wheel of time. A new incarnation of the same ineffable spirit. Few groups are so appropriately named. My copy sounds great and the packaging is lovely as usual.
