Beyoncé – Cowboy Carter

Well, I can't agree at all with the previous speakers on the recording quality of this vinyl .
This recording on vinyl sounds so compressed and lifeless that I unfortunately didn't expect it.
The treble is too artificially limited. The same applies to the lower frequency range.
All the ingredients for this vinyl edition sound like a flattened burger. Lots of fat and flavour in the mid-range, but flat at the bottom and top...

What a pity - this actually very good album would have deserved a better mastering on vinyl!

Outstanding pressing. Sound is the best it can be.
I don‘t miss any songs, every side is a well thought piece of art.

I agree with many of the other reviews - compared to the level of care that went into the Renaissance packaging, this feels surprisingly cheap. No lyrics, credits, tracklist... I'm not sure if this was a rush job to hit a specific release date or a conscious decision. Outside of that complaint, I had to send the first order back (Amazon) due to press issues. The 2nd copy has a split seam in the sleeve but I'll live with it. I do actually think that this version minus the 5 songs on streaming is a more cohesive album - other than YA YA I don't find I really miss them.

First off this album is ground breaking. It’s a blended and intertextual journey through a genre that whilst familiar is executed with grace. I had to give this the score due to the delivery. As a collectors the beautiful gatefold is slightly damaged from its journey and it took forever to arrive. Should have just done my best to find an in store copy.

This vinyl is phenomenal. I have never preferred the vinyl master over the digital like this. Certain things pop in the record that I either missed or just didn’t noticed on the digital version some of the songs are very unique compared to the digital release. I highly recommend if you are a fan of this record. The vinyl is a separate experience. Not something that can be said often of modern releases.

Sounds incredible on vinyl. I understand the mixup that happened during the release time of the record, still the packaging is extremely lacking: no visible track listing anywhere, the back cover is just a an oversized cropped version of the front cover…

I understand this was made during quarantine (hence the barcode and the rushed prints of vinyls and CDs because of the lacquer master being finalized before the extra songs were made) but I hope she releases the full version with the horse cover & the full track listing - preferably in a similar medium (boxset) like the treatment of ‘RENAISSAINCE’

The discs were extremely damaged in terms of scuffs (full) but the sound was not affected. The pressing plant wasn't careful enough. This is an overall fantastic record

There’s something wrong with the mastering/pressing of Sweet Honey Buckin on mine … high sibilance, compressed sound – the life suddenly goes out of the record. Will be returning it.

Great sounding pressing. The package has its shortcomings, as others have mentioned (no lyric sheet or other extras, fewer tracks than the digital version), but from musical perspective, the album’s 22 tracks work as a cohesive whole and the vinyl is well-pressed and mastered.

I honestly prefer this tracklist to the streaming one. Feels more cohesive. Sounds great as well.
