Edited one year agoThe volume on this LP is cut a little low, most likely due to the length they've squeezed on to the vinyl: Side A about 27:20 and Side B about 28:30... That's a long LP. As the source material has always been a little low-fi, I guess they thought it would be ok. I compared it to the CD version on 2021's 'Sex Pistols – 76-77'. That CD was considerably louder, but when I got the volume down on the CD player to match the LP volume, I felt the LP sounded better. The highs are a bit more defined, the CD a bit more muddy. Interesting, considering they probably come from the same digital files.
So if you're willing to crank your system up a bit, this is a pretty good release.
