- Edited 9 months agoHaving deliberated for some time (see my comment from 8 months ago) I decided to “bite the bullet” and purchase this reissue.
And I’m glad I did... It sounds good.
Despite all the naysayers on here (why the hate people?) this release sounds clear, nicely balanced, well remastered.
Not having an original to compare to I don’t know just how much “bassier” the OG was; but do people not have EQ on their amps?
It does NOT sound crap, it is NOT thin and dull. It is a silent pressing, which sounds better than quite a lot, in fact probably the MAJORITY of reggae reissues I’ve heard.
Lighten up folks, and enjoy the fact that you can enjoy a rare LP in (almost?) all of it’s glory.
And at approx £170 LESS than an original pressing, I’m very happy with my purchase. - Edited 11 months agoTerrible pressing..This has been cut from a cd and sounds very thin and dull compared to the original. No depth and bass is terrible.
This is not an official Johnny Clarke release and is practically a bootleg. - Good heavy pressing with great sound quality. After a good cleaning, only a few very soft clicks can be heard, but nothing really annoying.
- Another great reissue from Lantern Records of this much in demand (and increasingly difficult to find) album from the mighty Johnny Clarke originally released in 1982 on UK label Art & Craft. With backing from the legendary Roots Radics this is some of Johnny's finest work including certified classics such as Dance To The Music, Rude Boy and You Better Try.
- Why the low rating, yet no reviews?
Can anyone who owns this reissue let the rs of us know it’s a worthwhile purchase?
Thanks!
