Track 5 was renamed "Bocuma" for "Music Has The Right To Children". Track 20 is different from the "Music Has The Right To Children" version.
The version of track 20 here is sampled from the ending of the 1982 porn movie "A Brief Affair". The "Music Has the Right to Children" version is a re-recorded version, with the line "a so-called obscenity case" changed to "a censorship case or a so-called obscenity case" and the line "stop you from viewing an adult film" changed to "stop you listening to Boards of Canada".

- This is a rare release that can only be found online, unless you know Michael or Marcus personally. I like to think of it as a beta version of MHTRTC, as many of the tracks that show up here are also in that album. The tracks are extremely vivid and beautiful, especially some of the vignettes. They immediately put thoughts of fuzzy VHS recordings of Canadian nature into my head

First time I heard about BOC was when I saw Everything you do is a Balloon on youtube. My first action was to download the album this was on and wikipedia pointed me towards Boc maxima. It was the most amazing thing I had ever heard and I listened just to this album for a very long time. When I discovered that you can't get this album officially anywhere, I just couldn't believe it lol.. I own most of the others now but when I hear a track from this album, I still automatically assume that it'll be followed by the corresponding track on this album.
50 copies? Must have been a cdr not a factory pressed disc surely?- Edited 10 years ago271 people have this and yet the total release of this album is up to 50, something is not adding up here. Anyway its a pity that i can´t find a cd of this format to purchase for my own collection.
The people who have this listed in their collection probably have the digital version. They dont mean that they have the limited cassette or cd.- Fingers crossed for a re-release on vinyl one day, although I am pessimistic...
