Admittedly so, I think I just listened to this one for the second or third time since 2002.
And I'd like to correct the wrongs and give credit where it is due: this collection of tunes by italian maestro Marco Carola is nothing short of brilliant, and its true potential and rawness are emphasized even more today, due to the modern plague of slick, calm and subtle minimal releases.
While he's often overlooked within today's techno circles, mr. Carola is head and shoulders above the rest here! Just listen to Poison, Plastatik and Compressed!!! Pure genius.
All tracks are very heavy on the bass, with fat slices of sound getting pulled in and out of the tracks, with occasional breaks followed by explosive climaxes. Delicious, hard, groovy, yet instantly likeable, but pretty hard to come by these days.
If you stumble across it, don't hesitate. Techno at its purest form!
