XTC – White Music

I own three variations of this album. this, the US Virgin International edition, and the 1982 Epic Records reissue. out of the three, this one is the best sounding and best looking. the blue virgin label just clicks in with the cover when you put the two side by side. the mixing of the album is much more pronounced and very well produced. I love that they put the title of the album in the white portion of the front cover, something that the US did not do when it was released in 1979. My favorite part of this album is the keyboard. It's so bad but so good at the same time. a truly amazing debut for such a fun and awesome band

Sounds pretty good. Not the best XTC album but still an XTC album. Know what I mean?

I am curious about this pressing and whether I should buy this reissue. I have the original red/pink Virgin UK pressing and I wonder how it compares to this. If anyone has both copies I would love to hear your opinion.

Superb sound quality. White Music is my least favourite XTC album. Quite dated, but arouses nostalgic feelings all the same.

According to the pictures the Catalog number on back sleeve isn't 25 768-270 but 25 768 XOT. So which is right?

This pressing was on sale with the PUNK logo on cover and correct cat number on rear sleeve ( VIL *, NOT THE OVED* CAT NUMBER ). Probably there were some transitional copies ( new covers with new cat number used for the reissue on budget line that were used for old unsold pressing)

This editions 8 page booklet does contain lyrics to all the tracks on this reissued CD.

clearly destined to remain an incorrect entry, not sure why but all evidence is on dicogs and other sites re virgin labels

Slight label variation on mine. The girls on the Virgin logo are pink not white, the rest of the label is the same.

this was the first lp by xtc and the only japan pressing this lp got in 1978, this comes with a standard two page japan insert and a very nice thick green obi strip, the sleeve is rather thin, this one pops up complete from time to time, this was probably the most punky record by this great band!!!!!!!!!!
