The 1982 UK rerelease gives no label information on the record label or sleeve, only Copyright Control 1982. The B-side matrix gives ''SINE REC REC QUA NON'' (without Recommend Records which not), and (some?) have a sticker on the back sleeve given: distributed by Recommended Records, Wandsworth Road,London". The matrix gives cat-nbr 1848 ... the "Black Snakes'' LP from 1983 has (among others) Rec Rec cat-nbr 1849.,
The 1997 Drag City CD (and 2015 LP) seems to be a US rerelease of the Recommende Records release, also given Copyright Control 1982.

The original DIY record pressing by North American Music Inc (red labels) was 500 copies. It did not mention Red Crayola or Mayo Thompson on the labels. It was first presented at the Venice Biennale, 14/7-10/10/1976. Possibly it was issued in various sleeve variations: 1: no cover but plain white sleeve with paper inserts (as above) - 2: the David Bachelor bowing man drawing with Art & Langiage given as front sleeve, back sleeve has the information of the inserts printed but shorter, it also gives: c-Art& Language 1974, disttibuted by Robert Self 50 Earlham St London WC2H 9LA (so possibly a UK stock) - 3: no cover, plain white sleeve with David Bachelor drawing insert (??)
In 1980, when Mayo Thompson worked for Rough Trade, he distributed the remaining 100 copies through Rougjh Trade. It's the same pressing with the red labels, also possibly issued in various forms: 4: no cover, plain white die-cut sleeve with red "Art & Language & Red Crayola'' stamp - 5: no cover, plain white sleeve with two David Bachelor drawings (photocopy) and Art & Language and The Red Crayola "Corrected Slogans'' (26/2/73-1/76) printed (either in between the two drawings (see Drag City CD booklet), or printed on the long side over the two drawings
Its unclear if variation 5 is from 1976 (so Red Crayola given), or from the 1980 batch distributed by Rough Tade (being the first time Red Crayola is mentioned, which makes sense as Red Crayola started to release new records on Rough Trade in 1979-80.

All lyrics appear as printed on the insert of the Recommended 1982 pressing of the LP, which was also the first to feature cover art (pictured left). The original 1976 pressing on the Music-Language label was released with no cover art but instead a piece of typed paper glued on the outer sleeve (pictured right).

Since Thompson worked with both the London and New York Art & Language branches on a number of different projects, this is probably why neither he nor the Red Krayola is listed separately on the original release. Only the mention of Jesse Chamberlain (the New York musician with whom Thompson reformed the Red Krayola in 1978) as the album’s drummer hints at the Red Krayola’s or, rather, Thompson’s involvement in the project. Later releases credited both Art & Language and The Red Krayola as the contributing artists, perhaps due to the respective 1978 and 1979 repressings of the first two U.S.-released Red Krayola albums on the British Radar Records label and Thompson’s own increased reputation.
