- Edited one month agoExcellent pressing. All dynamics evident for a quality listening experience. No distortion. Cover is textured. Never an obi I believe because this a US pressing distributed in Japan.
- If you have the first press as i do, then compare, its a bit of a mess this recording to be honest, so much is lost
- Edited one year agoGreat music, good pressing. Mastering seems a bit different between tracks. In the opening number the brass section sounds a bit too distant and the drums sound thin. Then the sax seems to get closer to the mic for subsequent tracks, while the trumpet sounds like it's outside in a long corridor (way too much reverb). The bass, though, sounds dominating and authoritative, with nice woody character, driving everything passionately. On the best tracks this sounds airy, lively, fat. The LP comes in a good poly-lined jacket. All in all, a quality re-issue. Recommended.
- If anyone has a cover available in decent condition, I would be interested in purchasing the cover alone. Please message me!

- This album was Quad encoded using the QS matrix system. All copies, whether LP or CD, contain the matrix encoding.
- Edited 9 years agoProbably one of my favorite Black Jazz Records, along with Roland Hayne's Second Wave. Plenty of Rhodes action with funk/fusion vibes throughout. Not a lot of swinging standards on here, which is my main complaint with the other black jazz albums. I put this one on time and time again. Real heads seek this out.
