- Technically this album is brilliant as to be expected from these guys but its easily about 4 songs too long making this nowhere as good as the first album...After multiple listens I took about 4 songs from this release and added them to the first album aka this would have made a fantastic EP...Its a shame since the album artwork looks to be promising the same but maybe slightly darker which im fine with...The sweet hooks just aren't there this time around...Many of the songs feel like blue prints to better songs...Regardless I will support these guys and hope they tighten up next album if they go forward.
- I guess I will be the only one with a critical view. The first album was amazing. It nailed everything. Especially not overdoing the corniness and also it was a cohesive and balanced album. This album takes the songs and themes to the max and I am afraid it just goes too heavy on them. I was very much looking to this album but I am dissapointed. There might be a few good songs i can take out and piece in with the first to make it work and still enjoy the band but I am afraid I doubt I will be playing this all the way thru. The cydi lauper is horrible and there are 2 songs that are so heavy they almost go into a heavy almost wanna be EBM or industrial heaviness that really doesmt work. The lyrics and the production are still excellent and well done. Symetrical being the only song that really flows well and works for me. One of the first couple are ok. I will have to check. Honour amongst thieves has some good parts. 13 songs is a bit too much. The running time is a little too long.
This album would have been better if it mimicked the first album more than just the artwork. A few less songs, tighten it up with some quality control and stay with what works and lose the heaviness on a few songs and this would have been a good follow up. The first album was really hard to top. - I really wish discogs would do something about the abuse of comments on this site. They just cause more work later to remove. If these are so important and vital to the release put them in the notes section. Comment on the music. Dont comment on condition, sales tactice, where to buy etc.
