Reviews
- My first R.E.K. album, and it's unbelievably good. In every category -- writing, vocal delivery, arrangements -- Keen smokes most of the other "Texas singer-songwriters" I've heard, so much so that I'm not sure it belongs in the same category. Even when the lines are long, the lyrics are as neat as a notepad, no wordy wandering or bad poetry like Guy Clark or Lyle Lovett. I may take flack for this, but the closest comparison I can think of is Jimmy Buffett: Texas tale-telling gets cleaned up for pop. I think it's more than worth the "compromise."
