- Almost 30 years later, Diamond Dave rejoins the band for a full studio release. Recipe is the same, tongue and cheek fast cars, faster women southern Cali hard rock following Ted Templeman's recipe to the letter. Wolfgang takes over on bass duties for the departed Michael Anthony and daddy's chops are miles ahead of the virtuosity he showcased some thirty years earlier as witnessed on tracks like China Town and Bullethead. Worth a second and third listen folks. Even without Michael Anthony's trademark background vocals and Diamond Dave being auto-tuned to death, the return of EVH to the top of the mountain as guitar players go make this a treat to listen to. A definite 3.5 out of 5.
