- As fate would have it, the period of the album "Scars Of The Crucifix" became a turning point in the band's career both in terms of changing members and in terms of further creative vector. This is the final album of the fifteen-year journey of the golden line-up, which gave the world of Death Metal the legendary and influential albums of the early 90s. And let "Scars..."didn't become an album that changed the way we think about the genre, it's a damn evil and powerful record that sounds great even now. Almost half an hour of concentrated hatred, laconically, targeted, without fillers. Well, the main "epic" is the inclusion of the song Fuck Your God in Guantanamo Greatest Hits =) It's hard to remember the song Deicide, which contains less obscenity against religious fanatics...
The 2018 reissue of Earache differs from the original edition in the cover - the CD version was used, but, apparently, there is no difference in the sound (if someone had the opportunity to compare with the first press, specify whether this is so). The album is recorded very naturally, the instruments sound very lively and a certain minimalism is felt to achieve balance. In terms of mastering, everything is very good here, the frequency ranges are not cut off, although subjectively, when listening in direct mode, the idea arises that it is the low frequencies that could be more pronounced, without them the sound is too "transparent". In terms of playback, this press is not ideal - there is a lot of sand between the tracks, to be more precise, there is a hiss in every pause, but it was not possible to hear any defects in the tracks themselves. In any case, the record must be prepared for listening, because the vinyl is in a printing envelope without protection, respectively, it collects both static and dust. Earache's "pragmatic approach" to the economics of releases is still unpleasantly surprising. The purple color of vinyl does not match any of the design elements, except that it goes well with black by default within the visual aesthetics of the genre. Yes, this is a relatively rare limited-to-300-copy press, but it is definitely not worth it to look for it purposefully. - Edited 6 years ago

This album will be re-released through Earache on 11th May, 2018 on black, gold, red and splatter vinyl. New merchandise coming, too. - I have the same (Barcode and cat#), also an US release, BUT I have a complete black slipcase with an inverted cross die-cut on front. Back is printed as the other ones!
That isn't this
http://www.discogs.com/Deicide-Scars-Of-The-Crucifix/release/1648390 - Is there a misprint version that says it should have a DVD but there isn't any, and no tray for a second disc either, or do I just have different jewel case and miss the extra disc?
- track #7 is spelled incorrectly on the back cover.
#7 "one upon the cross" should read: once upon the cross
