- Funny they chose to print the gold stereo sticker to the cover when it was never originally released as such, nice touch anyway! Sounds great to me when these pressings usually get a bad wrap. Lovely ballads

… love the debut of Fuller as a leader with these great sidemen. “Oscalypso“ clearly stands out with Art Taylor’s crispy cymbals and great horn work by Fuller and Mobley. Most other tracks are quite relaxed. The sound quality of this MMJ reissue is as great as the pressing itself. Of course, the Mono Mix, given a proper cartridge, is the cream on top. Very recommendable! - Edited 3 years ago

was impressed with curtis fuller on "lou takes off' and went in on this one. he doesn't blow as elegantly as his other '57 blue note banger, 'bone & bari,' but you'll still mistake him as a trumpet in the mix. the pressing is perfect; zero surface noise & perfectly defined instruments. - This album is a really great one. On this pressing there is an issue on side two. The track Lizzy's Bounce has a lot of surface noise that you can hear over the song in about half of the track. A bit of a bummer. I bought a 2nd copy and it had the same problem in the same spot. Most likely a production issue. Just an FYI. Otherwise the album sounded really good.
- Weird noise dominates the entire track b-1. I refunded it and replaced by the Japanese earlier release.
