Various – Spacewalk - A Salute To Ace Frehley

A bit of a disappointment…
Guess my expectations were set too high? It’s not bad but the entire production could’ve been so much better. Scott Ian (pretty much Anthrax with the inclusion of Charlie and Frank) - Rip It Out, is performed, recorded and mixed very well. Bruce Bouillet - New York Groove, is an interesting funky take on the classic. Dimebag Darrell and Vinnie Paul version of Fractured Mirror has been a recording I’ve liked for a while. However, the overall mix seems mediocre, rushed, and just not up to par. It feels like the players were just brought in to hammer out the tracks, paid and sent on their way. Very little if any direction and no post-production. Then there’s the noisy pressing… Whoever mastered this seemed to have the same carefree attitude going into it.
