King Diamond – The Eye

Mine is warped.Not extreme but, warped enough it causes pitch variations on some songs. Came like that right out of the shrink. Disappointing.

As someone who really loves this record, I took the chance to learn more about its soundscape and rate the experience from the point of view of a current vinyl fan.

There's no denying the raw energy that King Diamond brings to this record right from the start. Every song by this band sounds like it came from their very beginning, which shows how dedicated they are to the roots of heavy metal. If you know King Diamond's other music, "The Eye" has always stood out, and this release makes that point even stronger.

On this record, the guitar work is just amazing. Every string has a story to tell, from the heavy riffs that crush to the complex melodies. The guitar tells stories that take people through a maze of feelings, fear, and desire. The tunes on this record are what really make it stand out. I really like "Eye Of The Witch," "Insanity," and "Burn" the most out of all the great songs on this record. "Eye Of The Witch" is the perfect example of everything that King Diamond stands for: theater, music, and raw power. The scary chorus is both a war cry and a creepy song, showing off King Diamond's amazing vocal range. This ride, "Insanity," is just as crazy as the name says. People who listen to this song are challenged to accept the chaos inside them. Each instrument in "Burn" is essential to creating a masterpiece, which is a brilliant example of how good the band is at making music.

The way the record feels in your hands is also interesting. The picture disc is beautiful, and the artwork on it is both striking and perfect for the album's themes. But there is one small problem with the future of picture LPs. They need to be protected, no matter how beautiful they are. A protective cover for the disc would not only make it last longer, but it would also make using it better overall. A small touch like this can make a big difference, especially for fans and enthusiast.

In the end, King Diamond's release of "The Eye" is more than just a nostalgic trip down memory lane; it's a reminder of the band's history. Unbearable inner groove distortion on the last tracks :( doesn't sound great at all

My copy is very similar to this one. The biggest differences being it is missing the CRC on the spine and the SR on the cassette.

Really disappointed of the colour. Mine is just purple. No black and not marbled.

Does anyone know how many copies this one is limited to? I know my cobalt color “Abigail” album is limited to 700.

Sound on this LP is phenomenal. Best version of this album I have owned.
