- I had an awkward moment while going to the local record store for a record signing from the band while they were in Austin, TX for Levitation. I brought both this version (MOV) and the reissue for a signing and the band kind of questioned singing this copy since I guess it wasn't an official pressing. I wasn't aware of the controversy but had to find out through here. They ended up singing both records but I was a little confused until now. I get it but if this version isn't "Official" why is it still sold on here? I thought bootlegs or unofficial pressings were blocked from being sold on Discogs?
I have other MUSIC ON VINYL pressings and they're all pretty nice as far as sleeve and record, sound goes. I really enjoy this record so i wanted both reissues as far as the cover goes. Happy that it got a solid repress. Happy with both. - Sounds excellent.
I Wanted to support the band but them releasing a "Tour Only" Compilation while making their repress with an ugly ass alternate cover and awful-looking colored vinyl (and it being more expensive than the MOV) made me go for this...
No regrets - Guys, the band is doing an official remaster and reissue. Don’t buy into this “get it while you can” nonsense that rewards the label issuing this record without the band’s blessing (and probably without paying them). If you love the record and (presumably the band), maybe, like, actually support THEM instead of MOV?
- My copy finally arrived from the UK to Canada. I had pre-ordered this way back in November from a Canadian seller but I started to panic when I was seeing no copies in North America. Ordered it from the UK and it was here in about 2 weeks. Thank goodness I have a copy of the amazing record. The sound fantastic on my system.
- This reissue sounds absolutely incredible. Crystal clear and noiseless. Just get it at the retail price while you can!
- amazing sounding pressing, dead quiet! well worth the wait. please don't wait around if you wanna buy this!
- Another super-solid pressing from MOV - my copy is flat, clean, heavy, and sounds fantastic. One of the most underrated albums of the 90s, this slots in just under Loveless on my list of fuzzed-out shoegaze favorites. Had to snap this up when I saw it but will also buy any "band-sanctioned" version that they put out.
- Compared it with my 1st press UK copy on Hut Recordings. Sounds exactly the same, should be the same master.
MOV reissue is dead silent, OG has some surface noise on quieter parts.
