I don't think there were many that rivalled this man when it came to his use of breakbeats specially the sound of his Amens around 94, when although there was lots of great music there was also a fair few formulaic, weak sounding Amen led tunes around where the tunes potential is let down because the beats have no guts! (Photek/Source Direct/DJ Crystal/Bizzy B/Remarc) just like the others mentioned he had a unique way of making it his own even back then he had HIS sound and you new it when you heard his tunes drop in a club! This for me is one of his best and it's the B-side, State of art that really floats my boat. The tune kicks off with a nice flute/bell that sort of sparkles in combination this works in tandem with the familiar and well used "I feel it" sample, then in kicks an original and excellently crafted beat, that just builds and builds making the tune roll along beautifully, this is helped along the way (of course) with Dillinja's trademark booming bass which lays the path for the Amens to come.. Ruff and rugged but so tight and edited to perfection! ..it really is an infectious wall slapping beast of a tune!
"I feel it" ..yes I bloody well do Sir!!
