It's all about 'I Wanna Go Bang (Old Time Dub)' for me. Those ever familiar latin style keyboard breakdowns with the bittersweet minor chords are just a bit special. Todd Terry had the knack of locating the most obscure sounding rhythms and melodies or sampling snippets, rearranging the sequence or processing them to make them sound entirely different. Black Riot/A Day In The Life/Warlock and Just Wanna Dance are a case in point. I love the electric xylophone/piano/vibes break on this though. I wish he'd used a bit more of it.

This record is so sick! I ended up getting two copies so I can play around with the melody in "I wanna go bang". That track is pretty much a prototype for UK 'Ardkore a few years before that sound took off. The flip side "Cause your right on time" is nearly just as good with those euphoric strings that just take you away. I can also see someone submitted a list referencing Top Buzz and Grooverider. This comes as no surprise to me, this record influenced those guys in a big way.

I am almost positive this one was produced by Todd Terry. These tracks are filled with overused snares typical of Todd. Todd Terry was probably the first house producer to use the snappy snares to give house beats that extra bump. "Cause you're right on time" uses the sample from Loleatta Holloway's "Love Sensation." I think this is probably one of the first tracks to use that sample - a couple of years before Black Box.
