- Still a great album; I picked it up when it first came out and I haven't gotten tired of it. Kind of weird how this is the version with the bonus track...
- this album was Thee Bible of Trance for me in the 90s and after losing my entire collection of albums, Bible of Dreams was in the first group of albums replaced.
now, 20+ years later, it is still one of my favourite albums of any genre. the songs everyone knows are the danciest, of course. but the more ambient selections should not be overlooked. - Edited 17 years agoOdds are if you're a fan of trance, you've heard and own something by Juno Reactor. Bible of Dreams was Juno Reactor's first big step towards the tribal influences that they've become known for today (hints of this were seen on Beyond The Infinite, but not nearly as recognized as on here).
I'd say the first half of this CD is the stronger part here. Jardin Decile has a soothing beat that soon turns more chaotic and fast. Conga Fury was a huge hit - the mixture of tribal elements with a trance beat was pretty epic at the time. God is God (my fav Juno track) has an extremely catchy, repetitive beat that is pretty hard to resist tapping your foot to. Komit is a return to the more sci-fi trance that was present on JR's first 2 albums. The other 4 tracks, don't interest me much honestly. They are the more experimental tracks of the CD, which I guess the whole CD is experimental, but some just fuse better than others. Track 9, the remix for High Energy Protons, isn't as good as the original, but helps balance out the CD with danceable tracks.
From here Juno Reactor got more proficient with mixing different cultures with trance and odds are if you like this one, you'll love what he's done since.
