Reviews
- Edited 2 years agoI never bought this originally due to some fairly scathing reviews upon release and then forgot about it even existing. Just received this version as a gift and I'm very glad to have it! Many very interesting takes on this assortment for sure. I appreciate the "WTF?"ness of Edgar Winter's Saxophone shredding and Tony Levin's Banging on the Drum but mostly that these are full re-recordings and as a fan of every veteran guitarist on this collection, again, VERY glad to have it.
The only two complaints here are:
1) the amount if sibilance throughout. A hair distracting and let's be honest, unacceptable with today's technology. Unless the original recordings are this way....as stated, I have no idea.
2) ZERO liner notes. Why were these specific songs chosen and by whom? Did Gary Hoey just INSIST on doing "Love is the Answer"? Would have loved to read something from Todd about these sessions.
