Reviews
- I received the version that has the "Moanin'" side 1 label / tight center hole. However, and most importantly, the vinyl is flat and quiet - and the music is excellent. Keeping it.
- Jist picked up a new copy of this from Juno UK, for less than 20 quid no less. Did they repress an 8yr old reissue? Runouts match what are shown here. Looks to me like RTI runouts instead of URP or Rainbo (as many were) which is a bonus. Visibly flat if a bit scuffed lookin, look forward to playing and updating......
- Excellent sound with incredible dynamic range! Superb mastering by Bernie Grundman. Quiet pressing as well. I only paid $16.99 on Amazon. What a deal!
- Overall worthwhile in my opinion. A very few small bits of distortion on some louder passages, not on inner grooves so I wonder if maybe it’s just a hot master tape. YMMV but few and minor enough that they don’t ruin the listening experience for me.
- My copy sounds and plays great. It's not perfect (slightly off center) but for the price no issues and no distortion. Playing an Ortofon black cartridge. Great jazz record!
- My copy was comically warped and off-center. Also had the Art Blakey "Moanin" label on side 1. Returned. Buyer beware.
- My copy has distortion throughout. They are split seconds in length but aggravating. I added it to my free giveaway pile. Hopefully someone else will reissue this great album soon.
