- Compressed and tinny. Maybe I got a bad run but this is no better than CD. Running on a nice setup too. Bass is gone. Vocals are out front. Everything else hidden in the back.
- Sorry to say this: The music sounds jammed in there at loud levels. My Japanese copy sounds much better.
- Easily the best sounding pressing of Joshua Tree you will find. Cut by Chris Bellman at Bernie Grundman's studio and pressed at Quality Record Pressings in Salina, Kansas, this version knocks the spots of any European edition. Be aware QRP pressings tend to be in limited runs, so 'buy now.... or cry later!'
- Edited one year agoThis is the best pressing of this lp! I own japanese first and usa first and 2009 20 anniversary re-issue and now this 1 , and i believe this is the best pressing i have listened too so far. Having said that i have not listened to UK first press so that 1 may be better but as far as out of the ones i just listed this press kills all of them the usa first is the next best in my opinion that i own then japan then the 2009. I may have to pull the trigger on a UK first just to see but for right now this chris bellman cut is awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
- I think this might be the one CB cut I'm not crazy about. The bass is just too bloated for me. I loved what he did on Actung Baby, but this cut.....7/10.
- This sounds far better than my U.S. OG pressing, with greater bottom end, less harshness in the mids, and less brightness in the top end, which helps tone down vocal sibilance (I'm not getting much at all). Packaging is great and the full-sized booklet was a nice touch. Quite happy with this one.
- Maybe I got a bad copy? Mine sounds compressed with little in the way of instrument separation or soundstage. Perhaps it’s just the recording itself, as I’ve never heard a good pressing of this album. Which seems strange seeing that Eno and Lanois were involved.
- Edited 3 years agoNice quiet vinyl. Bass is still rendered imperfectly, but overall this release far exceeds older pressings imho.
