- They Made A Mistake 5:30 Tongue twist roll with the rap.. https://www.discogs.com/Afrika-Bambaataa-Soulsonic-Force-Planet-Rock-The-Album/master/19130
- Unusual rap album in that the quality of the lyrics, the delivery, the samples, were way above most of what been released prior, and certainly compared to what would follow in the industry. Each track is a story, cleverly written, and similarly cleverly delivered; everything points to a focus on quality writing and painstakingly perfected musical moods. I don't necessarily like all tracks equally, but those I like less I still enjoy listening to the lyrics every time. A must have indeed!
- Absolute classic album that was way ahead of its peers, Rick rapped these charecters who he had conversations with and changed his voice accordingly. I don't and do not remember any rappers who did this or could do this at the time. It was like a children's book of short stories. The production and theme matched the presentation, (This is what was expected from Def-Jam productions).
Rick stopped being just boastful and arrogant like other rappers but also gave you more depth.and personality.
He would say things that were hilarious with his sense of humour. I think Notorious B.I.G.s "Ready to die" had a similar approach but with a far more violent theme
This is an album that should be listened to carefully because it is easy to miss what has been done here. - Anyone else have the 2Lp copy in the white sleeve with a sticker saying “The Great Adventuresnod Slick Rick” Finally Released on 2LP?
