- My copy sounds okay, it's not as vibrant as some others in my collection, but it isn't bad enough that I feel like I need to return it and get another pressing. The color is disappointing like everyone else is saying, but the disc still looks good.
I wish it was a better pressing, but overall I'd rate it about average.

2023 press sounds great to my ears. It also clearly has the "white swirl" effect which many complained was not apparent on the first press.
The new hype sticker does not have the Record Store Day logo. Not sure if that's sufficient for a new discogs entry.
I'm glad it's not my ears then. My copy sounds muddy even when I turn the bass down and the treble up on my amp. Disappointing.- This is the last time I buy a pressing from Get On Down. It Was Written was OK except for the constant pops on 2 songs. But God's Son...from "Get Down" to "Last Real Nigga Alive" it was non stop crackle. "Zone Out" sounded clean then the 2nd half of the song Is when the pops started. That lasted until "I Can". Sides C & D played perfect. Unfortunately for me sides A & B is the best half of the album. Get On Down is just too inconsistent to keep buying pressings from them.
Not an audiophile but good pressing on my side (not noisy and good dynamic, only used a cloth to clean the paper residue).
But yeah not really a swirl : 95% Blue / 5%White (barely visible)- Put this through my SpinClean, and now playing it. Sounds fantastic. The only disappointment is the coloured vinyl - no traces of white that I can see, so basically just blue and it doesn't match the blue on the cover.
Edited 3 years agoMaybe I received an anomaly, because my copy sounds great! Very little noise, and it's loud and punchy. Records are flat. I used the spin clean before playing it though...- Sound quality is very bad. Very disappointed. This album most definitely deserves a better pressing.
