- I‘m sorry to rate only three stars, but the recording itself is very goodand this is one of Lateefs best records.
The pressing is made by weakheads, a lot of ticks and pops. The covering is a shame! They put in the record not in a ricesleeve, like it had to be done. They put it into a hard piece of cartonage. Damn stupid weakheads. - Edited 11 months agoHey. I bought this record. I had an original stereo copy that was in pretty much NM condition but my friendly record store dealer dude said I should BUY this one.
Normally I am not persuaded so easily but I decided to just go for it and grab his last copy.
Holy crap. This record is MUCH better than the original pressing. I hear stuff all over the place in it. It is a brilliant kaleidoscope of sound and musical ideas. 3-D imaging is fantastic. I wish the cover was glossy, and the thick cardboard is a bit over-done to be honest.. but if you listen to the RECORD then GET this one.
Seriously, this one changed my opinion of Yusef Lateef. Maybe there are others out there in this league? - Edited one year agoHave compared with my OG Presswell pressing and....... the 2023 remaster just pips it for me.
- Excellent release. I’ve owned a digital / ITunes version of this for years and its wonderful to finally upgrade to a really good vinyl version of this funky recording.
Excellent sound quality and really impressed with the super thick cover.
Great music that really grooves.
Perfect release. - This is uber premium. The Cover is twice as thick as a Staunton jackets. The vinyl is quiet and well pressed but they put it in a printed gloss paper sleeve! Come
on ARC! Use poly-lined sleeves! - Nice.... the thickest outer cover I've ever seen in my life!!! You could build decking with it! Ha! 99% flawless record, great sounding but don't expect as good as a Tone Poet. Worth buying when you can, groovy funky loveliness!
- Don’t overpay for this version, it was a pre-release for the RSD and it will be available on Bandcamp in May.
