Reviews
- Edited 2 months agoI have the 2024 MPO pressing of this one, not yet on discogs (has the unmistakable MPO logo and a stamped runout). Great pressing as well.
- Sound is generally quite good in comparison to earlier versions. Engaging a subwoofer, even the original, non-dubbed, quintet set shows Mingus as merely remote, not hidden. In the revamp of the dubbed quintet set, the deep, semi-clear appearance of the bass brings a welcome coherence to the material. Nice job here by Blakemore and Gray (they also did a bang-up job on the recent Charlie Brown Xmas 2xLP).
- Edited 3 months agoGreat sound quality and mastering. Flat and quiet almost everywhere except disc 2. It has some pressing issues, pops and clicks. I emailed them and asked for a replacement for the second LP only. They suggested that I should clean the record and give it another try, if the issue persists then I should send a video and they would decide what to do.
Pt2:
I cleaned the record and the issue was still there. They sent me another copy and asked me to return the first. The second copy has no issues.
