Reviews
- Minimal surface noise + clicks flow throughout the record yet somehow it doesn't disrupt the listening experience even in the quietest parts.
(Cleaning it would do the trick)
Nevertheless, it's a brilliant album on a near perfect pressing. - Edited 4 years agoCompleting my first listen to this pressing from a sealed copy but I know the album well. It's a crisp, clean pressing and I think it sounds excellent, though it is quiet as some have pointed out. Kate's voice is pushed up for which I'm very grateful. The piano on the solo piano tracks (Mrs. Bertolozzi, A Coral Net) could be rebalanced. Overall it sounds significantly better than any CD or digital copy I've ever heard, and it's one of her best records.
- Great sounding pressing, apart from Kates voice, that sound a bit sharp in places. Removing Rolf Harris' part in a an understandable decision. Who wants a complete asshole on its album.
- OK, so the vinyl is quiet and the packaging (gatefold, booklet and sleeves) is fine, ...first rate in fact, but the remaster does sound different and I am not sure if it is better?!? Just different and not as comfortable to the ear. I'll need to do more listening and less comparing, as THAT detracts from the great music!
- nice clean pressing
i'd say it's missing instrument seperation, punch and some of the sizzle
of the original but for the money a great buy and a no-brainer...get it - My copy has Disk 1 with the Side B label on both sides although the vinyl itself plays side 1 & side 2 correctly. Anyone else have this problem?
- Bertie's voice is horrible. The feeling was removed in a sudden for 'An Architect's Dream' and 'The Painter's Link' songs. What a shame! Was the didgeridoo removed too? Against these policies!
