- Evolution is an outstanding Moroder classic, filling every second of it's 15-odd minutes with exciting, electronic experiences. I thought this had been remixed for modern electronica fans, but it's the original mix with the trippiest bass lines and effects. It is actually a phenomena, how current this track sounds and could sit comfortably next to bands like Leftfield and FSOL as a mid-tempo electro-dub soundscape. Well worth checking out. It's also a bonus track on the 1979 re-released E=MC2 album on Repertoire. Remastered too.
- Why is there a Harold Falt on the back cover and label? I only heard of a Harld Faltermeyer. Is this a typo? I never heard of a Harold Falt, only a Harold Faltermeyer.
- Edited 19 years agoThe soundtrack side is just average disco with a few good bits. But Evolution on the flip side is the most bizarre scary disco you'll ever hear. Everything in it is just so perfect, the bassline, the passages. Brilliant!
- Edited 19 years agoThe real cut on this record is "Evolution". Over 15 minutes of Giorgio Moroder goodness. Epic disco that avoids cliche's for the most part, and has a few instances of pure magic. Recommended.
