- A superb pressing. These Abbey Road Half Speed pressings never disappoint. Vinyl is free of any surface noise and this is a bargain for the price - a unique and timeless album.
- Not a big deal for me, but my PIAS copy of this album has no half-speed mastering certificate or download code. The retailer doesn't list a download code as part of the package either - suspect this is a cut and paste from the previous 25th anniversary pressing.
- Much clearer than my 2011 reissue and more dynamic. Guess its part of the half speed mastering process but the lower end sounds strange im not sure maybe others can hear it. It sounds excellent though and in its own right is a good release. The vinyl are 140g in a good gatefold sleeve and have ZERO noise on them. Not a single pop or anything.
- Edited one month agoGreat sounding pressing. I can’t say if it is better than the HS Abbey road version but yeah , as everybody says here, this 2022 reissue sounds absolutely amazing. Gorgeous dynamic range, big and rich bass (tracks like Changeling and Napalm Brain are the best examples) and nice high end. Good price too. If this is not the Endtroducing definitive pressing, it is a really good contender.
Psdt: Not a single warp on my copy as many have mentioned. referencing Endtroducing..... (2×LP, Album, Gatefold) MW059
I have owned this pressing of the masterpiece, have played it enough, yet have taken good care of it... one positive aspect is that the samples already have some noise, light pops and clicks, thus a copy in very good condition will work, if anyone is interested buying one at a better price, the production is intented to sound like that, the volume of sound is sufficient and the nostalgic feel is there, I like very much how it sounds, really!!!- Repressing of the Endtroducing... remastered discs included in the 20th Anniversary Endtrospective Edition, which by all accounts was the definitive version of the album.
- Excellent pressing by Optimal. quiet and clean wax. I don't think it is mentioned specifically but these discs are a solid 180g
- If you're going to cut electronic/IDM/trip-hop for vinyl, you absolutely want Barry Grint cutting the lacquers
- Despite some speculation about the Universal fire, according to Josh himself the original sources were not lost. This cut is from the original masters (unlike the 2011 Back To Black which uses secondary digital)
- It's cut lower than the original 96 pressing (Rick Essig cut), and about equal to the 2002. But there is no apparent surface noise here so the volume isn't a negative factor for this release. But the choice was made here for good reason...
- The sequencing here is clutch and the defining aspect of this release. By moving Changeling to A4 and ending Side A with Transmission 1, each side except Side C ends with a Transmission. Previously Transmission 1 was in the middle of Side B and Transmission 2 started Side C. This is why the album had to be cut at a lower volume, but the results are very rewarding. After hearing this it's hard to go back to an older version. The transitions between discs are perfect and add to the atmosphere. The Transmissions into deadwax are eerie at the least. Love the attention to detail and how it elevates the listening experience.
- Jacket and sleeves are nothing new, but the materials are sturdy. Much better than the 2011, 2002 and 96. The Gatefold fills the space and there's no unnecessary gap in the middle.
- I'm not into colored wax, but I would have loved this one to match the two different greens of the labels
There's little room for improvement here. Unless RTI or Pallas comes along and represses this, I can't see a better version coming along for a while. It's possible we might see a "US" repress. Get this one or the complete 20th Anniversary Endtrospective Edition with confidence.

UPDATE: I have also compared the Abbey Road Half Speed Remaster. While in it's own right (and for the price) sounds good enough to beat out common generic pressings floating around, it doesn't have a place next to the Essig cut or the Grint cut. There is no comparison on the low end, and the range is just not there. Overall bright and thin. Looses much of it's charm for the sake of attempting to pronounce more detail on the high end. The Grint or the Essig cuts are still the ones to go after for anyone looking for the best pressings out there. - At the time it was released to it took a few listens to really get into it. It's pretty dark and weird in places. And the more stuff you listen to the more you're inclined to delve into the dark and weird corners of music.
Every now and again when Josh releases a new record I return to this and make mental comparisons. I haven't tried the new album yet, but I will.
This reissue I bought for 50p. Which is scandalous, but good for me. This reissue I find a much more enjoyable than the other CD copy I have.
Seek it out. - Outstanding pressing, really quiet, great low-end and incredible separation. A pressing that serves well this masterpiece.
- As mentioned by OwenParrr, this pressing sounds very good (to my ears, at least), but both the copies I've had had badly warped 2nd discs. Beware.
