It is very difficult to be able to tell the difference between the original 96' release and this 2002 repress when sealed. They look almost identical right down to the green hype-sticker on the cover. Aside from the runouts and labels, the inner sleeves and main sleeve are also different. The main sleeve of this 2002 repress has a semigloss/matte finish, the original 96' release comes in a high gloss picture sleeve with glossy inners. Ultimately the mastering on both appear to be the same...

Don't know what my fellow "discogs audiophile nerds" buddies think about this one but I'm playing the original album out of this box right now and it's a huge improvement on my 2011 repress (I did buy it on CD at release time), pretty good pressing to my ears at least !

As for the bonuses I already had the "Excessive Ephemera" part of the 2005 Deluxe CD edition and listened to the remixes and of course they don't surpass the original (which you would have guess I'm a huge fan...) but they are interesting and an enjoyable listening for sure !

So pretty happy with that box, yes it's no cheap but I would say it's a "Normal" price for 6 gatefold LPs in a nice sturdy box and a short but nice book these days, at least the pressing seems really good and this album well deserve that I bought it for a fourth time over the last 20 years enjoying it again and again...

The Adrian Younge remix is really nice, the rest are pretty forgettable and i dont think anyone will be talking about them in 5 years never mind 20. It does sound good and is a nice pressing but stick to the original and save your money.

I've just finished listening to this from start to finish for the first time in probably 10 years. Not sure why I haven't dusted it off in that time maybe because i overplayed it like hell for the first 10 years. Even though I know these tracks inside out it still made me think "this is amazing, something special is coming out of the speakers" Everything about it is pretty much perfection. The sound of a man with a sampler, an amazing record collection and a whole head full of ideas. One of the greatest Hip-Hop Albums of all time (Yeah you can keep your "trip hop" or other bullshit labels to yourself this is Hip Hop to the core ;)

This is the version I have in relation to the runout codes but it's not a gatefold. Anyone know why?

I'm not much for writing reviews, and this took me a week to write and over 20 years to be able to articulate. This album is quite possibly the best album ever assembled by a DJ. All modesty aside, Josh Davis, aka DJ Shadow put together samples and beats that are unparalleled by today's standards. When I think of each track, I cannot think of a better sample or sound, or piece of music, to put in place of what is there... I can't. It is almost as if by some sort of unnatural force, that he was able to find the perfect sounds and lay them down in all the right places. Over the years, without question, it has become his Citizen Kane: He has not been able to live the album down. However, I personally don't feel he should. I feel he should embrace the fact he made a masterpiece. For as to embrace it, doesn't mean you must be locked into it, but for what it is, to acknowledge what it meant for music can only help him grow as an artist. And for me, what this has meant in my life. I, for one, am eternally grateful he made this album. I have listened to at least one track from this album every day since I was 18 in 1996. Great music is timeless. And Entroducing... is just that... timeless. Thank you, Josh. And please continue to make great music.

Back to black is a joke. This vinyl is pressed from the cd version. It's hearing at the first time when you put it on Mk2 !!

Pretty terrible pressing for one of my personal favorite records of all time. Kind of a shame, but I'm glad I've got it.

Sounds like tinned shit, though.
