Reviews
- "The Queen's Suite" is the earliest piece here, recorded in the spring of 1959, quite lovely at times, particularly the haunting "The Single Petal Of A Rose". The two suites comprising side two aren't as compelling, but have their moments..."Have At It' is a boisterous romp and "Uwis" has a gently flowing groove. This is a very good pressing, the orchestra is well recorded on all selections, there's a wide, full, enveloping soundstage, and it sounds very warm and nice. Another jazz album I got from WSGE when they were purging their vinyl collection, there's some hairlines on the vinyl but it plays very clean and nice, with minimal surface noise on occasion.
