- Yeah. Wow. I really had never heard most of the material on this album before I bought it, but the performances are terrific from start to finish, and this Speakers Corner sounds as good as anything I have in my collection (ca. 1,000 lps.). If you're any kind of fan of soul, funk, or R&B, this is going to become one of your favorite albums very quickly. There isn't a weak cut. Hatthaway sings his behind off.
- Just want to add my voice to the chorus of praise for this edition. This is an album I'm very familiar with and it's like hearing it anew. I don't have a fancy rig but wow, this just soars! I have only recently discovered Speakers Corner and they are clearly going to ruin me financially but I have a feeling it'll be worth it!
- Masterful work from Speakers Corner, Kevin Gray and Pallas. This sounds incredible. It draws you into the performance with its warm presentation and 3D soundstage.
Highly recommended

* Blue Jeans Cables + interconnects - Edited 3 years agoAs a proponent of optimum quality for music I love and appreciate, I typically steer away from vinyl reissues (until it's apt to do so.) While I own several reissues of certain titles, I've learned that crummy gray market labels have spotty to dismal quality control that results in everything from pressing defects to inadequate sourcing/mastering. With that said, I immediately sought out this soul classic for the third time (okay, fourth) after getting wind that Speakers Corner Records were putting their touch on it. Speakers Corner is a premium German-based reissue label that specializes in first-class, audiophile-aimed reissues of beloved jazz, blues, rock, classical, and to a lesser extent, soul titles. I must say that I'm pleasantly impressed with this particular reissue, as it preserves all the things that made the original mastering great. Although it's cut a little louder than the original pressing, everything sounds just right and it may very well be right up there with my original. No short cuts were taken either—mastered from the original analog master, the original labels and sleeve art was faithfully reproduced, and similarly to an original pressing, the music breathes. Just remarkable. Kevin Gray truly cared when mastering and cutting the lacquers for this.
I won't be getting rid of my clean, near-mint Presswell original from 1970 anytime soon, but will probably end up revisitng this Pallas-cut reissue more often. If you're looking to upgrade, replace a worn copy or you've never owned this record before, this will certainly do. - the job they did on this one is incredible ,, it sounds like the damn master tape the vinyl is dead quiet i mean what more can you ask for ? this one smokes my original and my repress hands down,, they did a great job with this one guys......
