- My copy of The Complete Albums Collection contains a Mercury label copy of Tales of Mystery and Imagination, made in Germany with the matrix number 52878305/00042283282025 21 - this is not the matrix in the listing for CD1 above.
- Edited 3 years agoCan anyone comment on the sound quality of this box set? Edit: Just bought the box, will update when i am done listening to the box set.
Edit: Finished listening to box set:
Now i have listened to the whole box set and it has a good sound quality, but i still prefer my LP's over these. When checking the DB amount of all the albums, they are pretty bad on paper. I listened to all the albums using speakers and imho the albums sound very good, i mean to begin with they are very well recorded mixed and mastered to begin with, so you can't really mess it up too badly. Also Alan Parsons himself was remastering this box set back in 2013 so... I Robot was supposed to be the worst of these all when it comes to remastering, but i was surprised it sounded so good.
I mean come on people 40-55€ for this box? not a bad deal. If you want the whole APP complete works in one swoop then this is a bang for the buck. - FYI this box set contains the 1987 remixed version of 'tales of mystery and imagination: edgar allan poe' NOT the original 1976 mix.
